SuperFruit!

This month I have decided that I would like to focus on taking better care of my skin among other things.I also want to do this in a way that won't break the bank and so I will be using ingredients that are already in the kitchen.

My super fruit for this month is the guava.

According to diethealthclub.com , Guava's help with menstrual pain and stomach aches, reducing sugar, diarrhea and constipation.

What I have found to be true is that guava's actually do help reduce pain during menstruation.

I do not suffer from frequent period pain but, this winter I cramped up just before that time of the month.

Ideally,my first option was to reach for neurofen but I also wanted to test the power of nature.

Because we are all different, I cannot guarantee that this will work for you, especially if you suffer from extreme period pain.

However, the pain definitely subsided and never returned. I'm not certain if I owe this to guavas or if I was only destined to cramp for 20 minutes.

What I can credit this month's superfruit for though, is skin benefits.

I have blackheads and dark marks on my face as a result of bad acne from my teenage years. I have struggled to clear them although I have made very slow progress over the years. I've started rubbing guava peels on my face and leaving the sap to dry for 5 minutes before washing it off.

Along with this ( and courtesy of my friend Nomi), I have started steaming my face with hot water and rooibos teabags two times a week before going to bed, this has also assisted in clearing blackheads.

I cannot wait to continue sharing my superfruits and develop a better skin regime.
