The Music Xpress Radio seed was planted around 2012 through public motivation thanks to the positive responses the team received playing at chill sessions. Since then a podcast has evolved, boasting several mixes to please the ear. These mixes are put together by three resident dj's: Marlon Mosadi (aka MXR), Matlhale Ramano (aka Slow) and Tshediso Matsasa (aka Besto). Music Xpress Radio breeds ground for freedom and allows the greater public to become part of a community who enjoy a mutual love for music.

Music is central to what MXRadio stands for and according to the guys, if happiness was the national currency; they would be wealthy. What they do is a passion and this is clear upon explanation that no matter how strenuous their craft is, positive energy radiates from within the team. Furthermore, when the opportunity arises for Music Xpress Radio to play for an audience, or simply during the production of their mixes, it always feels as if they’re doing it for the last time –hence all their energy is put into what they do.

(From left to right) Besto , Marlon ''MXR" and Slow - Resident DJ's on Music Xpress Radio Upon building a community of quality, the objective for MXRadio is to expand their listenership further than Johannesburg and spread into the rest of the country before branching into the rest of the continent considering that a broad listenership is a clear indication of growth. Reaching the ears of the local public is vital despite the thought that in order to 'make it' one has to be recognised internationally. The team prefers to develop here first and exist as a reminder that there’s something beating here in Africa.

The guys are constantly jumping over hurdles, however, with every challenge comes a learning experience. Some of the lessons that the team has learned the hard way include the fact that not everybody is for you. The world is bursting with people. What is more, in every sphere of life there are wolves swaggering in sheep’s skin. On several occasions (especially in difficult times) the threesome found themselves alone, but this only influenced a stronger brotherhood among them.

The Music Xpress Radio podcast and their music productions is the brotherhood extended to the wider public. #Xpressors allow individuals to identify themselves with the brand on social media platforms. The hashtag bridges the gap between the producers and the listeners, furthermore it enhances the idea of a community formed on the basis of expression.

Apart from the brotherhood, behind the scenes the dj's have a great team behind them who oversees every move and makes it possible for them to be the best that they can be.As said by Bang Gae - "Teamwork makes the dreamwork" . The team comprises of their general manager ( Pheelo Mosidi aka Plo), artist manager (Chantel Nkosi aka Chany) and lastly Lunga Magubane who is in charge of finance.

The journey of the soul for the residents of Music Xpress Radio revolves around the compiling of music that doesn’t quite reach our radios. Every output is tailored and the individual productions of each of the members reflects their feelings thus incarnating the words of Frederick Delius that Music is an outburst of the soul. How refreshing it was to sit down and have a cup of authenticity with the vibrant members that make up Music Xpress Radio.
